Taiwan imported 33 million barrels of crude oil in July, 12% more than last July, the island's Bureau of Energy said in a statement.
The figure was 1% more than that of June, the largest monthly increase so far this year.
CPC Corp and Formosa Petrochemical Corp refined a total of 4.55 million kiloliters of oil, 9% less than in July last year, or 9% less than in June this year, according to the statement.
Refinery utilization dropped to 73.22% in July from 83.24% in June, said the Bureau.
Separately, CPC had said earlier this month that it expects its crude oil processing volume will drop next year as a result of shutting down certain facilities.
