Through Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham, we aim to reside in the hearts of Tamilians and not be merely known as a jewellery band but be a part of their culture and tradition.”
Papanasam Ashok Ramani said, “Our carnatic music is divine and is a classical art form. There are several composers who have contributed to the growth of carnatic music over the years. It is heartening that a giant jewellery corporate Tanishq is taking the initiative to bring out the best talent in carnatic field by conducting competitions with the media RAJ TV as a reality show. I am extremely glad to be a part of this project as a consultant and a judge for this unique competition. This event will showcase the talent of all the young musicians and is a golden opportunity to bring that talent into limelight. We have structured the whole competition very uniquely in such a way that it challenges each participant’s talent in various genres of music. The varied range of composers & types of compositions that the participants will be required to present has been chosen very carefully. The best performers will be rewarded.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mala Manyan, Chief Operating Officer (COO ), Raj Television “Raj TV is very proud to be the associated with Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham. This is a unique attempt, in itself wherein Tanishq in association with Raj TV is getting the connoisseurs of classical music together on one platform to unearth the hidden talents of Carnatic Classical from our roots. Today, television is brimming with musical reality shows on channels, that focus on contemporary or film/popular music but very rarely do u get shows that focus on a purist musical form like Carnatic classical. Also our attempt is to popularize this form of music among the youth and contemporary singers and this is what differentiates Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham from other reality shows. We have aspirants from across the state and also from other parts of the country and even abroad who participated in the auditions and the average age of the contestants are between 15-23 years.”
She further added, “It is an absolute delight that a brand like Tanishq is promoting this initiative. When we think of Tanishq as a brand, the attributes that instantly come to mind are purity, quality and finesse and hence such a brand being associated with a pure form of music like Carnatic. It is a natural fit. We are confident that Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham will reach out to our viewers and that the best talents will be rewarded.”
