According to market sources, turmeric price in the Nizamabad mandi stood at Rs 5,800 per quintal, up by Rs 400 per quintal. The arrivals in the Nizamabad mandi stood steady at 3,000 bags.
Turmeric price quoted in the Erode mandi stood at Rs 5,500 per quintal, up by Rs 400 per quintal. The arrivals in the Erode mandi jumped to 5,000 bags from 4,000 bags. The Salem variety was trading at Rs 7,000 per quintal, up by Rs 1,000 per quintal.
In the Nanded mandi of Maharashtra, select quality quoted in the range of Rs 5,800-6,200 per quintal. The Powder quality traded at Rs 4,900-5,400 per quintal. In the Sangli mandi, Rajapuri variety quoted at Rs 6,600 per quintal, up by Rs 300 per quintal and Desi Kadappa was quoting at Rs 6,000 per quintal.
The NCDEX Turmeric August contract ended the session higher at Rs 6,264, up by Rs 242 or 4.02% over the last close. The contract traded in the range of Rs 5,922-6,264 per quintal.
