According to the expectations, in 2010 maize production will reach the level of nearly 10 mln tonnes, a decrease of 500 thsd tonnes compared to the previous year index, declared Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.
According to the analytical department of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, in 2010 maize sowing areas total 2.7 mln ha, up 29% or 0.6 mln ha compared to 2009. The essential reduction of yield indices due to the difficult climatic conditions of the present year became the main factor assisting to the decrease of maize general production.
However, due to changes of the price situation on the market, agrarians of Ukraine will receive more financial earnings compared to the previous year.
