United Spirits Ltd. is reportedly open to making a bid for premium scotch whiskey brand Teacher's.
Ashok Capoor, Managing Director, United Spirits was quoted as saying "Teacher's is a good fit for us, because in India it's the largest selling scotch whiskey brand. However, the companies haven't approached each other in this regard".
According to reports, Vijay Mallya, chairman of UB Group said that the group is certainly interested in any brand that is relevant to the Indian market, or any other emerging market that it is focussing on.
