Verizon Appoints a new Managing Director for its India IT Operations

Santosh, who joined Verizon 10 years ago, has 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, having worked in the U.S. for Sprint, MCI and GTE.

Santosh Bijur has been appointed as the managing director of Verizon Data Services India, the IT development center of Verizon in India.


Santosh, who succeeds Rahul Saxena, will lead a 6,000-member workforce in Chennai and Hyderabad and will be responsible for Verizon’s India IT strategy & operations to create value for the corporation.


Prior to his new appointment, Santosh served as head of IT delivery for call center self service systems.


Santosh, who joined Verizon 10 years ago, has 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, having worked in the U.S. for Sprint, MCI and GTE.  He holds a U.S. patent in the area of call center management technology.


Rahul will move back to the U.S. taking the new role of vice president - Strategy, Development & Planning at Verizon’s headquarters.
