The latest position in respect of total food grain stock held by FCI and State agencies, procurement and allotment and offtake of food grains under different schemes during the month of June 2010 is as under:
Procurement - The procurement of rice in KMS 2009-10 as on today is 309.01 lakh tonnes as against 330.85 lakh tonnes procured last year. In respect of wheat, the procurement in RMS 2010-11 is 225.25 lakh tonnes as against 251.72 lakh tonnes procured last year.
Stock- The total stocks of rice and wheat held by FCI and State agencies as on 1st July, 2010 is 578.30 lakh tonnes comprising 242.46 lakh tonnes of rice and 335.84 lakh tonnes of wheat.
Offtake - The offtake of rice all schemes during the month of June, 2010 has been 21.94 lakh tonnes. This comprises 18.18 lakh tonnes under TPDS and 3.76 lakh tonnes under other schemes. In respect of wheat, the total offtake has been 17.64 lakh tonnes comprising of 15.12 lakh tonnes under TPDS and 2.52 lakh tonnes under other schemes.
Allotment and offtake under BPL, APL and AAY - The total allotment of rice during June, 2010 under TPDS including BPL, APL and AAY was 20.31 lakh tonnes, against which the total offtake was 18.18 lakh tonnes representing an overall offtake of 89.5%. The BPL allotment of rice was 9.66 lakh tonnes, against which the offtake was 8.82 lakh tonnes representing offtake of 91.3%. In respect of AAY, the allotment was 5.61 lakh tonnes, against which the offtake was 5.69 lakh tonnes, which represents 101.5% offtake.
The total allotment of wheat under TPDS including BPL, APL and AAY during June, 2010 was 16.24 lakh tonnes, against which the total offtake was 15.12 lakh tonnes representing an overall offtake of 93.1%. The BPL allotment of wheat was 4.89 lakh tonnes, against which the offtake was 5.13 lakh tonnes representing an offtake of 104.9%. In respect of AAY, the allotment was 2.91 lakh tonnes, against which the offtake was 2.69 lakh tonnes, which represents 92.4% offtake.
