Celebrated beach artist, official World Cup DJ and legendary dance music superstar behind the successful The Big Beach Boutique, Norman Quentin Cook is all set to enthrall Indian audiences for the very first time with his mind blowing compositions in about three weeks from now. The MTV and Brit Award winner who was bestowed a star on the city of Brighton's Walk of Fame, next to that of Winston Churchill is quite excited on his maiden tour.

An independent team will be set-up to manage the artist’s dressing room who will commence work a week prior to the artist’s arrival. There will be an exclusive lounge with imported furniture, colourful upholstery and graffiti decorations provided for the artist’s recreation. The artist’s management would like the artist dressing room to be “sexy and comfortable” and not just a regular backstage trial room. The lounge will be equipped with a full menu catering table comprising of Italian, Mexican and Indian dishes especially prepared by an international chef. 

Catering will also include sparkling mineral water, energy drinks, aerated diet drinks, assorted smart water, Innocent fruit smoothies, organic fruit basket containing bananas, apples, pears, kiwi fruit, strawberries, assortment of chips and dips, good quality cold cuts like chorizo, parma ham, salami, Clif energy bars, coffee/tea set up for instant coffee and English tea with honey, lemons, sugar and milk for the touring entourage. The lounge will comprise of multiple coffee tables, massage chairs, coat racks and a funky refreshment room. The band prefers no fluorescent overhead lighting and adjustable air conditioning and controllable mood lighting would be provided to them. While Bryan Adams and Akon used 100 towels, he will use 50 white and soft towels.

The event being pegged as one of the most extensive productions of the year will comprise of never-experienced-before technology used for a live concert such as imported forklifts and stealth LED screens. Being a very involved artist, the management will do a full fledged sound check a week prior to the show where no one would be allowed apart from them. A full charter plane will be used only for the transportation of the equipment alone since he is very particular about his music. 

The equipment which will be transported from city to city weighs 20,000 kgs. The artist has requested for a standing audience with no obstructions between him and the audience since he wants to have one big party. The artist will be using 6 aerosol-type air horns during his performance. For the very first time, he will be flying down to India with such a big crew. His touring crew will include 30 people. The artist being benevolent by nature has agreed to make donations towards the welfare of children and senior citizens and certain proceeds of the concert would be contributed to charity.

From ordering the most expensive alcohol for his stay in India to booking one of the most expensive hotel rooms, the organizers are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a lavish and comfortable stay in India. And that’s not all; grapevine has it, that this beach DJ will be given his very own limousine throughout his stay with an in-built DJ set. His hotel room will be converted into a bar by night where the party will continue after the concert. The décor in his room will be colorful with a lot of localized decorations including handicraft souvenirs. Being a complete foodie, the organisers have arranged to fly down his personal chef who will attend to all his culinary needs. He will be carrying colourful beach shirt, khaki 3/4th pants and white sneakers for his India tour.

It is quite interesting to know the artist knows a few words of Sanskrit and is looking forward to compiling an album for an Indian composer in the near future. Infact he is already taking a few Hindi lessons before he lands in India. He will be given a taste of Punjabi main courses, Gujarati sweet dishes and South Indian starters by the hotel chefs during his stay as requested by his management. 

The artist will be picking up chiffon sarees, bling bindis, glass bangles and kolhapuri chappals for his wife and colorful dhotis and zardosi sling bags for himself, measurements having come in a week in advance by the management. If it is to be believed, the artist and his crew are planning to visit iconic places on specially arranged bullock carts and local bazaar shopping since they have heard many stories about the rich culture of India and want to experience it at the grassroot level. The organizers have requested for special handicraft souvenirs and a flower welcome ceremony to be organized by the hotel staff in every city. The artist plans to also don the shades of the colours of the Indian flag on his beach T-shirt with a stage decorated with peacock feathers.

He will be accompanied by his children sans wife who are quite excited to experience the flavor of a culturally rich India. A special team will be set-up by the organizers to take care of the needs of his children. The itinerary planned for them will include visits to designer boutiques, visit to museums and temples apart from getting treated to some desi spa sessions and food tasting ceremonies. If sources are to believed, the artist would be attending a wedding of a close friend, who identity can’t be revealed also and will play a specially designed Bollywood composition.

Quite interestingly, the opening acts will comprise of artists like Jalabee Cartels, Arjun Vagale and Ash Roy who will be given a golden platform to perform alongside a legendary artist who is compared to the likes of a Chemical Brothers. The artist will be spending considerable time with the opening act artist’s to find a way of promoting local talent internationally and creating a launch pad locally. Interestingly the after parties hosted in the artist’s honour will see Pixel Cheese in action. 

World-renowned flute player Naveen Kumar who is part of A. R. Rahman’s team and with hits from Roja, Jodha Akhbar has approached the organizers for a collaboration since he’s an ardent fan. Our sources have also confirmed that companies like Percept who host Sunburn are very keen to tie-up for this artist and have made several attempts to reach the organizers.

Speaking on the occasion Veddant Rathi, Director, 6th Dimension Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. said, “Fatboy Slim is a legendary artist and I’m really happy that inspite of various companies trying to bring down the artist in the past, he will be making his maiden tour with us. We are working on requisite arrangements to make this trip successful.The artist has a very keen fascination for India and is already taking preparatory classes so he’s well versed with the country. Infact he greets me with a namaste now instead of a hello. We are planning quite a few informal and local outings for him.”

Being one of the top 50 must see act before you die, Fatboy Slim is a well acclaimed British DJ, electronic dance music musician, and record producer. His increasing demand and multi-faceted talent has made him a pioneer of the big beat genre that achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. Fans can expect to hear his chartbusters such as Weapon of Choice, Praise You, The Rockafeller Skank, Right Here Right Now" Brimful Of Asha, Blame It on the Bassline, Champion Sound, That Old Pair of Jeans, Everybody Needs a 303 to name a few. 

He will recreate the magic he produced at Glastonbury Festival, Big Beach Boutique, O2 Wireless Festival, Rockness Festival, Coachella Valley Music Festival, Good Vibrations Festival, Sziget Festival, V Festival, Cool Britannia FIFA World Cup Music Festival, Neapolis Festival, Detroit's Electronic Music Festival, Voodoo Music Experience and Ultra Music Festival.
