Richard Laube, Chief Executive Officer, Nobel Biocare has done his Masters and Bachelors degrees in Organizational Development and Evaluation Research, Boston University. Before Joining Nobel Biocare, he was appointed CEO of Nestle Nutrition. From 1996-1999, he was the Managing Director of Procter and Gamble in Brazil.
 
Nobel Biocare is a world leader in innovative restorative and esthetic dental solutions. As a complete solutions provider, Nobel Biocare offers the most comprehensive range of solutions from tooth to root, for single tooth to fully edentulous indications. What are your plans for the Indian market?
India is a very attractive dental market, which is expected to grow substantially over the next few years and Nobel Biocare will continue partnering with Indian clinicians to help patients achieve improved quality of life.
 
India has seen a shift in dental implants becoming the preferred treatment for missing teeth. Patient awareness is also on the rise with more opting in favor of fixed implant-based solutions versus conventional removable options.
 
With a full offering of products and solutions to meet this demand, Nobel Biocare can support customers of varying skill levels from beginner to expert throughout the entire treatment workflow.
 
Nobel Biocare plans to help dental professionals throughout India engage with the rising edentulous population to spread awareness of the industry-leading edentulous solution offering available to them.
 
We have also entered into partnerships with various universities in India and globally.
 
We expect double digit growth in the Indian dental market in FY13.
 
What is Nobel Biocare's mission?
Nobel Biocare's mission is to take care of patients. Nobel Biocare seeks to improve every patient's quality of life by supporting customers with the products and solutions needed to treat the patients better.
 
What will be your focus area going forward?
Our focus area would be edentulous market. Edentulous patients are physically impaired, according to WHO criteria. Studies have shown that conventional dentures restore only 10% of function, whereas dental implants can restore up to 90%.
 
Nobel Biocare plans to help dental professionals throughout India engage with the rising edentulous population to spread awareness of the industry-leading edentulous solution offering available to them.
 
What are your investment plans?
Novel Biocare intends to further develop this philosophy in India with training and education programs and value-adding services, implants and customized solutions like crowns and bridges on natural teeth or implants have been the core business in India.
 
We are planning to invest on workforce. We treated about 500,000 patients globally in 2011.

Nobel Biocare will introduce, in partnership with Bien-Air Dental SA, its new and innovative iPad-operated drill motor, OsseoCare Pro.
 
The first drill motor ever to be operated by an iPad, OsseoCare Pro combines unique handling features and an intuitive iPad-based interface providing clinicians and their patients with the highest treatment efficiency and security.
 
The OsseoCare Pro app is available to all purchasing customers and offers numerous innovative features and functions, such as pre-programmed drilling protocols, storage of patient files, customized sequences, storage of operation reports, and secure entry for multiple users with personalized settings.
