Build up your weaknesses until they become your strong points. - Rockne

Brace for some early morning weakness amid a mix of domestic and overseas headwinds. Asian markets have sagged after concerns about Spain’s worsening fiscal health and fresh trouble for Greece sent US and European stocks into a tailspin on Friday.

Spanish stock index plunged ~6% amid reports of financial distress in several regions. The ECB said it will stop accepting Greek sovereign bonds and other assets backed by the country’s government as collateral. Reports also say that the IMF may stop giving aid to Greece. Back home, the focus will be on New Delhi, now that the Presidential election is out of the way. The Congress-NCP tension is in the spotlight amid reports of an impending Cabinet reshuffle.

The Centre will find it tough to act on pending reforms amid continued opposition on sensitive issues like diesel decontrol and FDI in multi-brand retail. Monsoon deficit remains an even bigger problem. Inflation continues to be sticky while the twin deficits too remain elevated. Indian indices will remain largely rangebound and choppy before the F&O expiry.

HUL (Standalone) – Revenues Rs62.4bn (13.4% yoy), PAT Rs7.1bn (24.8% yoy).
