- Maruti Suzuki January 2012 volumes have been better than street estimates, especially the Mini segment (up 35% mom) and export volumes which saw a jump of 54% yoy. The company exported 14,386 vehicles. Total volumes grew by 5.2% yoy to 115,433 units (first yoy growth in 8 months).
- Domestic volumes were flat on yoy basis but jumped 30% on sequential basis led by a 34.8% and 24.7% mom jump in Mini and Compact categories respectively. Volumes in the super compact segment were lower by 11.6% yoy and 6% mom, mainly on anticipation of launch of the new Dzire in the near future. The company sold 9 units of Kizashi, which was launched in January 2011.
- While UVs sales were higher by 20% yoy, volumes in the vans segments saw a fall of 10.8% yoy.
