  • Maruti reported a 23.6% yoy and 3.9% mom volume growth on the back of a 32.5% yoy jump in domestic volumes. Models such as Eeco and Dzire drove volumes in C and A3 categories. In the A2 segment Maruti reported a 25.7% yoy jump despite rising competition. Exports were lower by 18.4% yoy owing to a marked slowdown in demand from Europe.

  • M&M’s automotive segment registered a 31% yoy and 4.7% mom jump in volumes. Growth was seen across all categories most notably being 23.4% higher UV sales and 38.9% jump in 3-wheeler volumes. Logan sales at 801 units were the highest since April 2009. Farm equipment segment witnessed 24.9% higher volumes driven by 23% higher domestic volumes and 52% jump in exports.

  • On a yoy basis, Tata Motors saw strong growth in volumes across all categories with total CV sales growing 19.6% yoy. Substantially higher Nano sales resulted in 51.2% jump in domestic passenger car volumes. Total domestic volumes were higher by 29%, while exports leaped 92.1%.

  • Amongst two-wheeler players, Hero Honda reported a muted 2.3% yoy growth, while TVS Motors reported strong set of volume numbers with a 31.7% yoy growth. For TVS, Motorcycle volumes rose 30.2%, while combined scooters and moped volumes rose 32.8% yoy. Exports jumped 62% yoy.
