Govt may introduce MAT revision in Budget: Reports

Report said that the company is planning to give an impetus to Indian manufacturers, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), special economic zones (SEZs).

The government may introduce in the coming Union Budget a minimum alternate tax (MAT) rate for certain segments of domestic manufacturing, according to reports.

MAT for all sectors that are crucial to development of the nation, report says.

The government had introduced MAT to ensure no profit-earning company used exemptions and incentives to avoid tax liability.
