Monsanto India clock 2% gains on the bourses

Bayer is acquiring the U.S. based seed major Monsanto for $66 billion, as per media report.

Monsanto India Ltd ended at Rs. 2446.1, up by Rs. 49.85 or 2.08% from its previous closing of Rs. 2396.25 on the BSE. German chemicals conglomerate Bayer made an open offer to buy 26% in Monsanto India as part of a global deal. Bayer is acquiring the U.S. based seed major Monsanto for $66 billion, as per media report.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2490 and touched a high and low of Rs. 2540 and Rs. 2435.1 respectively. A total of 307478(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4136.59 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2744.85 on 15-Jun-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1520 on 11-Apr-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2728.9 and Rs. 2346 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.14 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.9 % and 19.95 % respectively.

The stock traded above its 50 DMA.
