Tata Power soars post Q2 FY17 results

Tata Power has posted a net profit after tax, minority interest and share of profit of associates and joint ventures of Rs 336 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to net loss of Rs 96 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.

Tata Power Company Ltd ended at Rs 73.9, up by Rs 1.7 or 2.35% from its previous closing of Rs 72.2 on the  BSE.

The company has posted a net profit after tax, minority interest and share of profit of associates and joint ventures of Rs 336 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to net loss of Rs 96 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.

Total Income has decreased from Rs 7,577.5 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 to Rs 7,311.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016.

The scrip opened at Rs 72.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs 73.25 and Rs 71.05 respectively. So far 5421451(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 19527.42 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 84.45 on 24-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs 55 on 12-Feb-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 73.75 and Rs 68.6 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 50.71 % and 16.26 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading below its 50 DMA.
