Collision Averted in South India between Indian Airlines and Jet Airways flight: report

The report stated that Jet Airways flight was coming from Thiruvanathapuram and the Indian Airlines flight was bound for Madurai from here.

A collision between an Indian Airlines aircraft and Jet Airways flight over Tiruchirappalli in southern India was averted because of timely action by pilots of both the planes carrying 242 people,according to a report.

The report stated that Jet Airways flight was coming from Thiruvanathapuram and the Indian Airlines flight was bound for Madurai from here.

Both the planes came close but the Indian Airlines pilot reduced the altitude and brought the aircraft down, report adds.

The report stated that Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a probe into the incident.
