Uproar in Rajya Sabha over Walmart 'lobbying' report

The Bhartiya Janata Party reportedly said that lobbying was illegal in India, and asked the government to answer as to who got this Rs1.25bn.

The BJP-led Opposition has stormed Rajya Sabha after lobbying disclosure report was filed by Walmart that revealed it had spent a massive $25 mn lobbying to get entrance into India and demanded that the government respond.

The Bhartiya Janata Party reportedly said that lobbying was illegal in India, and asked the government to answer as to who got this Rs1.25bn.

Congress MP Rajiv Shukla tried to respond but was drowned out by loud protests, says report.

The Parliament passed vote on FDI retail last week under which foreign retailers get access to India retail market.
