First edition of Little Hearts Marathon concludes in Mumbai

This event marked the presence of Salman Khan who flagged-off the marathon. Nearly 5000 number of children between the ages of 05 17 years ran for this noble cause.
Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children in association with Siddhivinayak Temple Trust initiated a noble run named Little Hearts Marathon - an initiative to create awareness about Prevention of Cardiac Disease in Children and for raising funds to set up a State of the Art Cardiac Surgery Department in the hospital.
This event marked the presence of Salman Khan who flagged-off the marathon. Nearly 5000 number of children between the ages of 05 17 years ran for this noble cause. The 2.3 km run begun from Siddhivinayak Temple and concluded at Wadia Hospital.
Dr. Minnie Bodhanwala, CEO, Wadia Hospitals, said: This day marks a significant milestone in the history of Wadia Hospital with the commencement of Little Hearts Marathon. We are thankful to the schools, parents and film fraternity for making this a successful show. We strive to create impact on the lives of children to prevent and fight against cardiac disease. Little Hearts Marathon is planned to spread awareness about cardiac care in children.
Were overwhelmed by the response received for the first edition of Little Hearts Marathon. We hope that our message is heard, our purpose is to help establish a dedicated cardiac surgery department at Wadia Hospital. The participating children were cheered in full enthusiasm by their relatives and celebrities like Dino Morea, Madhur Bhandarkar and Rakhi Tandon etc.
