Former PM IK Gujral passes away

Reports stated that the Gujral was admitted to the Medicity Medanta Hospital on November 19 with a lung infection.

Former prime minister Inder Kumar Gujral (92) passed away after prolonged illness, according to reports.

Reports stated that the Gujral was admitted to the Medicity Medanta Hospital on November 19 with a lung infection.

Gujral's body will be taken to his home at 5, Janpath soon, report said.

Inder Kumar Gujral (04 December 1919 - 30 November 2012 ) was a former Indian politician who served as the 12th Prime Minister of India from April 1997 to March 1998.

Gujral was the second PM to govern exclusively from the Rajya Sabha, first being his immediate predecessor H.D. Deve Gowda.

New highs pass by; flat start

The outlook is a flat open. Global indices are up. The minutes from the Federal Reserve's July meeting indicate that the Fed is in no hurry to raise interest rates.
