Govt blocks RIL application to own .Indians domain: reports

Reliance had applied for .Indians domain for its Indian Premier League cricket team Mumbai Indians.

According to reports, Government has raised objections to use of Internet domain name .Indians by Reliance Industries.

The Indian Government ‘s objections been sent to Governmental Advisory Committee of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), says report.

Reliance had applied for .Indians domain for its Indian Premier League cricket team Mumbai Indians.

Reports said that Currently, ICANN allows domain names only in 23 categories such as .edu, .org or .in but now the floodgates have been opened.
