IIT post-graduate Uday Kumar's entry has been selected out of the five shortlisted designs as the new symbol for the Indian Rupee.
With this, Indian Rupee will join the select club of currencies such as the US Dollar, British Pound Sterling, the Euro and Japanese Yen that have a clear distinguishing identity, said the Finance Minister.
