Instanex FII index up 0.51% at 12 noon

Of the 20 components of the Instanex FII Index, 16 were up and four were down.

At 12 noon, the Instanex FII Index was up 0.51% at 351.38 (+0.49% at 11 am) and the Instanex DII 15 portfolio was up 0.49% (+0.56% at 11 am). Sensex was up 0.58% (+0.84% at 11 am) and Nifty was up 0.54% (+0.78% at 11 am). The other Instanex Owner Indexes were also up – the Instanex Promoter 15 portfolio was up 0.38% (+0.47% at 11 am), the Instanex Top 15 portfolio was up 0.33% (+0.40% at 11 am) and the Instanex Retail 15 portfolio was up 0.10% (+0.13% at 11 am). Asian markets were up as well – Hang Seng was up 1.96% (+1.82% at 10 am), Shanghai Composite was up 1.79% (+1.85% at 10 am) and Nikkei 225 closed 1.68% higher (+1.20% at 11 am).

Of the 20 components of the Instanex FII Index, 16 were up and four were down. The main gainers were Bharti Airtel (+3.52%; weight 8.25%), Jaiprakash Assoc. (+2.02%; weight 2.06%) and SBI (+1.84%; weight 3.10%) and the main losers were Reliance (-2.52%; weight 14.06%) and Jindal Steel & Power (-1.59%; weight 3.02%).

Another day, another high

The outlook is a flat start. The market will look to scale to new peaks though not much effort is needed for the same. HUL saw a rally and short-covering may have pulled it up further. Speculation is on that its parent will raise stake through an open offer. After the cooling in oil prices, Cairn results will be in focus.
