The 11th Mega Property Exhibition this year is the first conscious, well thought out attempt to think on a macro, city-wide scale and be ahead on the trend curve.

This year, the exhibition has received an enthusiastic response of more than 75 renowned developers and Housing finance companies from all over Mumbai and Thane vis-a-vis participating. Destination Next: Thane!

An erstwhile distant suburb of Mumbai trying to match the developmental strides of that huge metropolis, Thane today is fast matching up to the commercial capital of the nation.  Far from lagging behind, Thane has today come of age to become ‘THE Destination Next’! MCHI (Thane) Jt. Secretary, Mr. Sandeep Karnavat avers “Thane as a city has come around like no other place in this state. Its developmental pace is awe-inspiring. Global leaders in IT are vying for space in this city which was once a small industrial town. From being home to bread winners it is transmuting into a city of wealth creators and that is a paradigm shift like no other.”

Truly, Thane has fast becoming the THE destination to be at for a holistic and fulfilling lifestyle; as well as to make gainful investments in. From a state-of-the-art IT Park spread over a whopping 50 lakh sq. ft, to beautiful auditoriums, malls housing some of the top-notch brands, multiplexes, stadiums, top-notch medical facilities like super-speciality hospitals and so on, the identity of Thane is evolving to match strides with the needs of a global city. As Mr. Nainesh Shah, President MCHI (Thane), explains, “Over an extended period, traditional brick & mortar industries have been gradually replaced by IT/ITES, logistic companies, retail malls, entertainment complexes and high-end accommodation. The city currently has around 12-13 operative malls & hypermarkets with at least 5 more to begin operations in the coming two years.” A central hub vis-a-vis connectivity to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivali etc, Thane is being equipped with superior infrastructure such as subways, flyovers, footovers as also the Monorail.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has plans on the anvil for a Thane-Kalyan-Bhiwandi high growth zone with a fine network of roads and proposed monorail network.  The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has given significant impetus to the growth of new business avenues like IT and ITES in the city. The consequential positive fallout has been the growth of retail, commercial offices and logistics. It is because of this superior connectivity and infrastructure that apart from being the perfect locale from the retail housing point of view, Thane is also emerging as the destination of choice for commercial businesses and IT/ITES. Another factor influencing this IT/ITES influx is the abundance of skilled human resource in a 15 km radius from Vikhroli to Kalyan & from Brandra to Koparkhairne. The city’s excellent law and order situation, as well as, sophisticated abilities to fight cyber crime also make Thane a preferred and safe destination of choice. Furthermore, Thane is also fast evolving as the next Central Business District (CBD) after Bandra-Kurla complex, with its 360 degree approach to healthcare, connectivity and linkages; but all the same, is also retaining its ecological balance via the presence of several eco-friendly projects and endeavours being undertaken on a micro and macro level.

In a nutshell, Thane has it all. It is one place, where peace, prosperity, progress, a culturally evolved ethos and a deeply spiritual setting offer its growing commercial and industrial facet a definite soundness.
