At 12:36pm (IST), the BSE Sensex was trading at 19082, up 240 points over the previous close. It had earlier touched a day's high of 19110 and a day's low of 18873. It opened at 18873.
The NSE Nifty was quoting at 5,796, up 69 points over the previous close. It earlier touched a day’s high of 5,804 and a day’s low of 5736. It opened at 5,751.
The BSE Small-Cap index and BSE Mid- Cap index was trading flat.
RIL, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, ITC, Coal India, L&T, are among gainers in Sensex and Nifty.
Infosys, BHEL, NTPC, Maruti Suzuki,M&M, HDFC Bank are among losers in Sensex and Nifty.
Oil and Gas , HC, PSU, Power,Realty, Metal, Oil and Gas, Consumer Durables, Bankex, Capital Goods, Metal, are the gainers.

Trends in FII flows: The FIIs were net buyers of Rs10.82bn in the cash segment on Tuesday, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers of Rs2.08bn, as per the provisional figures released by the NSE.
The foreign funds were net buyers of Rs2.99bn in the cash segment on Tuesday, according to the SEBI figures.

The outlook is a flat start. The market will look to scale to new peaks though not much effort is needed for the same. HUL saw a rally and short-covering may have pulled it up further. Speculation is on that its parent will raise stake through an open offer. After the cooling in oil prices, Cairn results will be in focus.
