At 3:11pm (IST), the BSE Sensex was trading at 19493, up 101 points over the previous close. It had earlier touched a day's high of 19507 and a day's low of 19186. It opened at 19475.
The NSE Nifty was quoting at 5,934, up 34 points over the previous close. It earlier touched a day’s high of 5,937 and a day’s low of 5838. It opened at 5,926.
The BSE Small-Cap index and BSE Mid- Cap index was trading up at 1%.
RIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Tata Power, NTPC, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Dr Reddys Lab, SBI, are among gainers in Sensex and Nifty.
Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Sun Pharma,Coal India, HDFC Bank, M&M, Bharti Airtel, Hero MotoCorp, are among losers in Sensex and Nifty.
Auto, Realty, Metal, Bankex, Consumer Durables, HC, PSU, Power, Oil and Gas, Bankex, Capital Goods, Bankex are the gainers.
Healthcare, IT, Teck indices are the losers.

The outlook is a flat start. The market will look to scale to new peaks though not much effort is needed for the same. HUL saw a rally and short-covering may have pulled it up further. Speculation is on that its parent will raise stake through an open offer. After the cooling in oil prices, Cairn results will be in focus.
