Kansai Nerolac reported 35.14% yoy increase in consolidated sales revenues for the Mar-21 quarter at Rs1,459.57cr. Kansai Nerolac has a virtual leadership position in the industrial paints segment with annual sales close to Rs.5,000cr.The company has 6 units across India and a strong dealer network with a focus on industrial coatings.

The Indian paints industry in India is estimated at Rs.54,000 crore per annum with a huge potential for growth. Real estate projects and automobile continue to be the big demand drivers for demand. For the full FY21, the net revenues were down -5.1% due to the lag effect of the pandemic.

The net profit in the quarter was higher by 84.89% yoy at Rs124.28cr. The sharp revenue growth led to better economics of scale and fixed cost absorption leading to strong EBITDA growth of 59% on a yoy basis. Net profit margins improved from 6.22% in Mar-20 quarter to 8.51% in the Mar-21 quarter.
