For Q4FY18, Shankara Building Products Ltd’s revenue grew by 26.7% yoy to Rs760.8cr as against Rs600.4cr in Q4FY17, beating the consensus estimates of Rs624.6cr. The company’s EBITDA margin declined by 37bps yoy to 7.1% as against 7.5%. The EBITDA at Rs54.1cr came above the consensus estimate of Rs40.8cr. The company’s PAT increased by 16.2% yoy to Rs21.6cr as against Rs18.6cr in Q4FY17.

• Increase in raw material cost by 28.3% yoy restricted the EBITDA growth to 20.4% yoy despite strong sales.
• Other income declined by 37.4% yoy to Rs13.7lacs.
• The company’s Retail division’s revenue grew by 43% yoy to Rs377.8cr as against Rs265.0cr in Q4FY17. The division’s EBITDA grew by 45% yoy to Rs40.6cr as against Rs27.9cr in Q4FY17.
• The Channel and Enterprise division's revenue grew by 14% yoy to Rs382.9cr.


Technical View:

Shankara Building Products Ltd is currently trading at Rs. 1,863.95, up by 48.5 points or 2.67% from its previous closing of Rs. 1,815.45 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 1,814.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1,914.90 and Rs. 1,805 respectively. So far 1,78,947 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The stock is currently trading below its 50 DMA.
