The Walt Disney Company in India today officially announced the release of its first live action Hindi feature “Do Dooni Chaar”. Produced by Planman Motion Pictures, “Do Dooni Chaar” is an inspiring story of a middle class family of endearing characters directed by Habib Faisal. The film, which opens on October 8, 2010, stars the hit duo of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, who as a lead couple return to the silver screen after 30 years.
“Storytelling is at the heart of Disney’s creative heritage and Do Dooni Chaar is the best representation of this with its delightful and touching narrative that will resonate with every Indian family and features characters to fall in love with” said Swati Shetty, executive director - Theatrical Productions and Acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India).
At the center of this heartwarming film is the Duggal family who audiences follow through everyday life. Father and schoolteacher Mr. Duggal (Rishi Kapoor) who is trying his best to cope with double digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary; his wife who loves the good life (Neetu Kapoor) and add to that, a demanding teenage daughter (Aditi Vasudev) and a fast-track son (Archit Krishna).
The real action begins when the family decides to buy into the big middle class dream and graduate from a scooter to a car. What follows is an exuberant journey of chaos, revelations, confrontation and discovery which eventually brings them together as a family.
