Assets of gold ETFs stand at Rs. 96bn in June

The assets of ETFs dipped 20% since January 2013 when it touched to Rs. 120.6 billion

Assets under management (AUM) in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) declined to 9.2% to Rs. 96.1 billion as of June 30 from a month earlier, according to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data.

However, no data has been provided on the volume.

The assets of ETFs dipped 20% since January 2013 when it touched to Rs. 120.6 billion, AMFI data showed.

According to fund managers, the demand for gold ETFs grows in tandem with the demand for physical gold. The buying in the yellow metal is expected to pick up during the festive season after the seasonally slack months of June and July.
