FIIs invest Rs. 54bn in equity in April

The asset under custody of FIIs at the end of April 2013 stands at Rs. 1.39 trillion

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded net inflow of Rs. 107.49 billion in April 2013 as compared to Rs. 149.19 billion in March 2013, according to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) data.

FIIs invested Rs 54.14 billion in equity in April 2013 against Rs. 91.24 billion in March 2013. During the period under review, FIIs invested Rs. 53.34 billion in debt market as compared to Rs. 57.95 billion in March 2013.

The asset under custody of FIIs at the end of April 2013 stands at Rs. 1.39 trillion, out of which the value of participatory notes including PNs on derivatives is Rs. 1.57 trillion, constituting 11.3% of the total asset under custody of FIIs.

S&P BSE Sensex increased 3.5% to 19,504.2 on April 30, 2013 from 18,835.8 on March 28, 2013, registering a rise of 668.4 points.

During April 2013, Sensex recorded an intraday high of 19,622.7 on April 30, 2013 and an intraday low of 18,144.2 on April 15, 2013.
