FY13 fund raising via QIPs at Rs. 160bn

The cumulative amount mobilised through QIP route during 2012-13 stood at Rs. 159.96 billion through 45 issues

Over 45 qualified institutional placements (QIPs) have raised a total of Rs. 159.96 billion in 2012-13, marking a sharp rise from Rs. 21.63 billion garnered through QIPs in the preceding fiscal, according to the latest data from market regulator SEBI.

"The cumulative amount mobilised through QIP route during 2012-13 stood at Rs. 159.96 billion through 45 issues," it said.

In 2010-11, Indian firms had rasied Rs. 258.5 billion cumulatively through 59 issues via QIP route.

QIP is a capital raising tool whereby a listed firm can issue equity shares, fully and partly convertible debentures, or other securities that are convertible to equity shares to institutional investors.
