Muthoot Finance to offer national pension scheme

The scheme is available to all citizens on voluntary basis

Kerala-based Muthoot Finance Ltd has signed an agreement with the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) to offer National Pension Scheme (NPS).

According to George Alexander Muthoot, managing director, Muthoot Finance, with the company’s pan-India presence and around 4,000 branches in urban and rural areas, it will ensure that the advantages of NPS reaches the maximum number of Indians.

The scheme is available to all citizens on voluntary basis and would include workers in the unorganised sector. The aim of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) is to promote old age income security.

Muthoot Finance Ltd posted a net profit of Rs. 2680.200 mn for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs. 2155.547 mn for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
