Top colleges gear up for southern India finals of Global Business Challenge

The Indian winners of the GBC 2013 will compete at the global level in South Africa.

The CIMA Global Business Challenge 2013 (GBC 2013), a unique global case study competition for undergraduate students, has announced the shortlist for its southern India regional round. The shortlisted teams are from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli; Vasavi College of Engineering; Loyola College; National Institute of Technology, Thiruchirapalli; National Institute of Technology Karnataka; Shadwells International Business School and Jain University.

These teams will compete against each other for Southern India regional winner’s position at The Park, Bangalore on 2 March 2013. After an unparalleled success and growth story, the CIMA Global Business Challenge is in the fifth year of play in India. GBC witnessed a participation of more than 30,000 students from 22 different countries and 400 plus universities in the year 2012. In India, over 422 teams participated in the first round of GBC 2013. These seven teams were chosen from 162 teams, from the south, on the basis of the case study report that they submitted. This report was judged by middle and senior management from various organizations, who are CIMA members and students.

It gives undergraduate students in the country an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills in the field of business. We are pleased to receive such a great response from colleges in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and even Trichy and Vaizag.”

This year’s case challenge is based on the Toy industry. At the zonal rounds, the selected teams will present their solution and will be assessed by a panel of judges, who are from the senior leadership; CXO’s of industry and are CIMA members.

The selected teams will analyse, report and present their cases to these eminent judges. The Indian winners of the GBC 2013 will compete at the global level in South Africa.
