University College Cork (UCC), one of the constituent universities of the National University of Ireland (NUI) recently announced that it will have a full-time presence in Bangalore having reached agreement with S.S. Group of Educational Institutions to become UCC's first Preferential Agent in India.
University College Cork ranks in the top 2% of universities in the world and is Ireland's first five star University according to QS. UCC is the only university in Ireland that has won the Sunday Times University of the Year award on three separate occasions.
UCC were ranked third in the world and first in Ireland by the International Student Barometer for dedicated support services for International Students.
Mr. Trevor Holmes, Vice President for External Relations at the university commented, "In the past Indian students have always performed exceptionally well in University College Cork and we hope this announcement will encourage other high performing students to consider Cork as the place to study in the future." He added, "I am delighted that SS Group have become University College Cork's first Preferential Agent in India and I look forward to our close co-operation in the future."
Last year UCC were also part of the largest ever Education Ireland Mission to India which gave Indian students an opportunity to interact with experts from across Ireland’s leading Higher Education Institutes (HEI’s). In continuation to its success a further Road show by Education Ireland is planned towards the end of this month which will see fairs being held at New Delhi, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore.
