Past year’s performance of BSE Healthcare and Pharma Funds

BSE benchmark index-Sensex gave approximate return of 25% in past one year by rising 5738 points (from 23154 points on February 26, 2016 to 28892 points on February 23, 2017).

BSE benchmark index-Sensex gave approximate return of 25% in past one year by rising 5738 points (from 23154 points on February 26, 2016 to 28892 points on February 23, 2017).

Whereas, BSE Healthcare index showed a nominal growth of 1.10% in the same period.
 
A look at some leading Pharma funds suggests that they have been underperformers in terms of one year gains.

SBI Pharma Fund just gave a return of 1.74%, which is still better than BSE Healthcare index and holds the top position among its peers.

On the other hand, Tata India Pharma & Healthcare Fund – Regular Plan has turned out to be the worst performer with negative returns of 8.27% to its investors in the past one year.
