Deeksha Mishra's art exhibition, "When the Gods descend..." was a perfect amalgamation of mythology and creativity. The inauguration of this exhibition was graced by the presence of Shaina NC, a veteran Fashion Designer today at Artists’ Centre.
On this special occasion, Deeksha said, "I am elated to be able to share my imagination, creativity and view-points with the audience through my art-work. If, through my creations, I can establish a connect with the audience, then that would be the highest compliment for me. I strongly believe that any truly original work of art should have the quality to surprise us, to make us sit up and take notice."
Deeksha further added, "My current exhibition "When the Gods descend.." originated four years back, when I found myself utterly intrigued by Hanuman and the colour vermillion. The real inspiration behind my works of art is my visualization of Gods which comes to me when I imagine them in a particular situation or action. For example, Lakshmi flying on her owl or Krishna in a contemplative mood holding a peacock feather in his hand, stem from my thoughts around their actions and moods respectively."
Shaina NC said, “Irrespective of what you have created, whether its art or anything that interests you, I am glad that you have exhibited it so that others can appreciate it. I am glad to be here and wish Deeksha all the very best.”
For Deeksha Mishra, the journey of becoming an artist took its own course. It was a gradual, but a very liberating experience. Coming from designing background, she believes that while designing is always bound by constraints, art happens purely from the heart and it is the depiction of one’s true thoughts and feelings.
Deeksha’s art will be exhibited at Artists’ Centre from 29th April to 5th May from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.
