“This course presents an opportunity for participants to explore both Indian and non-Indian case studies on organizations that have pursued scale within and beyond their home markets,” said Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor and faculty chair of Building a Global Enterprise in India.
Harvard Business School (HBS) will host an executive education program, Building a Global Enterprise in India, from April 29 to May 2, 2013 at the HBS classroom, Taj Lands End, Mumbai. Designed for senior leaders who seek strategies to expand within and beyond the compelling Indian market, the program marries on-the-ground, research-based knowledge of India with the global perspective of one of the world's leading business schools—a combination unavailable in any other executive education program.
“This course presents an opportunity for participants to explore both Indian and non-Indian case studies on organizations that have pursued scale within and beyond their home markets,” said Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor and faculty chair of Building a Global Enterprise in India. “Participants will study best management practices worldwide and strategies for tailoring those practices to the unique characteristics of the Indian market. The curriculum addresses the critical demands facing leaders of organizations seeking to capitalize on the business climate in the region.”
Building a Global Enterprise in India will explore management challenges from multiple viewpoints to develop frameworks to address a company’s specific challenges. It builds upon the grounded research of faculty who are attuned to the realities of operating in emerging markets like India.
“This leadership development program addresses the key trends and demands facing leaders of companies looking to build scale in India today.” said Scott A. Snook, Senior Lecturer of Business Administration and Building a Global Enterprise in India faculty member. “Our engagement in this region, initiated with case studies focused on companies operating in India. This has gradually expanded to include development initiatives for faculty in India, specialized education programs, and analysis of local business challenges.”
Faculty lectures, panel discussions, and assessment tools will create a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes group participation that is elevated through real-world insight using renowned HBS case studies. The program aims to build long-lasting relationships via the professional network through close interaction with an elite group of Indian and global peers.
As with all HBS Executive Education programs, the India portfolio will be taught by members of the school’s own full-time faculty using the HBS case method. The participants comprising of senior executives from various industries will enjoy an interactive experience that extends the learning process through personal and professional networks long after the conclusion of the program.
