As Indian cricket fans look to follow India’s first tour to England since the 0-4 whitewash in 2011, ESPNcricinfo, the world’s leading digital cricket brand, has unveiled their extensive multimedia coverage plans for the eagerly awaited tour - starting July 9th at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. ESPNcricinfo’s coverage of the tour features top notch original video content, including multiple daily editions (on each match day) of the signature analysis show Match Point. Match Point will be broadcast four times per day, offering insight pre-match, at lunch, during tea and after the day’s play from ESPNcricinfo’s team of world experts. Additionally there will be a live preview show one day prior to each Test and a review show the day after the match ends. The first live preview show starts today at 6pm IST with Ian Chappell and Ajit Agarkar.
Ian Chappell and Ajit Agarkar will feature in the first two Tests from Trent Bridge (9th – 13th July) and Lord’s (17th – 21st July)
Ashley Giles will join Chappell for the Rose Bowl Test (27th – 31st July)
Rahul Dravid joins Giles for the final two tests, from Old Trafford (7th – 11th August) and The Oval (25th 29th August)
Mark Butcher will utilise Skype to feature throughout the series
Fans will be able to send in their questions through Twitter using #Matchpoint and through Facebook. 4- 6 fan questions will be answered by the expert guests during each match day.
Polite Enquiries also returns, with ESPNcricinfo’s own Jarrod Kimber and George Dobell fielding questions via Twitter, offering their take on each day’s play; Rahul Dravid will also appear once during the first three tests. Cricket comedian Andy Zaltzman will bring his bizarre take on each test with his popular Zaltzone video dissecting the series with sharp wit and irreverent comedy, while the twice-weekly On the Road video diary will give viewers a inside the world of the intrepid cricket reporter. TheMatch Point team will also offer insightful previews of each text, utilising their knowledge of the two competing nations.
Also continuing is Modern Masters – ESPNcricinfo’s exclusive digital video series that analyses 14 of the greatest batsmen of the modern age. EachMonday and Thursday until December 29th, former Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sanjay Manjrekar examine each batsman, uncovering what made them so unique.
