Asian markets close higher

Japanese Nikkei 225, Hang Seng and Taiwan Weighted closed over 1% higher.

Asian stocks closed higher on Monday. Chinese market stocks slipped towards the end of the day after showing promise after revelations that China’s third-quarter GDP grew 4.9% as compared to a year ago.

Set Composite opened at 1221.88 and touched a high of 1223.15 and low of 1207.64 after trading higher in the morning on Monday. It is trading at 1,213.73 down 19.95 or 1.62%.

Shanghai Composite opened at 3351.10 and touched a high of 3371.09 and low of 3307.84. It ended at 3,312.67 down 23.69 or 0.71%.

Japanese Nikkei 225, Hang Seng and Taiwan Weighted closed over 1% higher.

On Friday, US stocks ended the week with gains for Dow Jones while Nasdaq sees pressure on options expiry to close in the red. Bond yields soften to 0.70% while US$ also sees weakness creep in after a week of consolidation. Oil is trading marginally higher.
