Consumer sentiment recovers mildly among urban Indians in June 2021

The consumer sentiment plummeted 6.3 percentage points in May 2021 due to resurgence in the Coronavirus pandemic.

The latest monthly Refinitiv-Ipsos Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) showed that India's consumer confidence among urban Indians have recovered mildly in June 2021 with a slight upside of 1.4 percentage points against the previous month.

The consumer sentiment plummeted 6.3 percentage points in May 2021 due to resurgence in the Coronavirus pandemic.

The monthly PSCI comprised of four weighted sub-indices and a mixed note was witnessed among these indices during June 2021.

In June this year, the PCSI Current Personal Financial Conditions Sub-Index edged higher by 0.1 percentage points, while the PCSI Investment Climate Sub-Index rose by 0.8 percentage points and PCSI Economic Expectations Sub Index soared by 4.6 percentage points.

However, the PCSI Employment Confidence Sub-Index is fell by 0.1 percentage points in June 2021.
