Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL)
in its filing to the exchanges informed that the company has appointed an independent chartered accountant firm to verify the allegations made by Cobrapost and submit a report.
The CA firm has been appointed by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on Thursday, the company said in a press note after market hours to the exchanges on Thursday.
The development comes after the company extended their decline on Thursday and hit an over four-year low on the BSE. The stock fell after a media report stated
that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs will probe the allegations against the housing finance company.
Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd's share price ended at Rs135.85, down by Rs25.75 or 15.93%, from its previous close of Rs161.60 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs156.95 and touched a high and low of Rs158.90 and Rs129.60, respectively. A total of, 10,22,47,820 (NSE+BSE) shares have traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs4,263.29cr.
