Harvard Business School (HBS) will host an executive education program, Building a Global Enterprise - India, from April 28 to May 1, 2014 at the HBS style classroom, Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
This leadership development program is designed to help organizations gain a strategic advantage in the current global economy. It offers insight into key trends in India and emerging markets while examining the major challenges faced by leaders of companies that seek to build scale. The program will help not only Indian organizations that are expanding globally but also multinational companies entering India or growing their presence in the market.
“In emerging and expanding markets such as India it is critical for organizations to recognize the distinct challenges and opportunities faced in this environment. To encounter these challenges leaders need to deepen their strategic insight and expand their skill set. The Building a Global Enterprise - India program helps participants expand their ability to design strategies, develop organizations, and manage talent in a rapidly growing market with high mobility and turnover,” said Prof. Tarun Khanna, Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor at Harvard Business School, Member of the Strategy Unit and faculty chair of "Building a Global Enterprise - India." He further added, “We help participants understand multiple perspectives, challenge their thinking and encourage new practices that would result in superior business leadership, through Indian and non-Indian case studies on organizations that have pursued scale within and beyond their home markets.
Scott Snook, a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration and a Member of the Organizational Behavior Unit said “The Building a Global Enterprise - India program will explore management challenges from multiple viewpoints to develop frameworks to address a company’s specific challenges. Through this program participants will study best management practices worldwide and strategies for tailoring those practices to the unique characteristics of the Indian market. The curriculum addresses the critical demands facing leaders of organizations seeking to capitalize on the business climate in the region.”
Designed for senior executives of large growing Indian companies, multinational companies and executives of large established firms based outside India, this program is also beneficial for leaders or private investors with substantial current or planned exposure to India.
As with all HBS Executive Education programs, the India portfolio will be taught by members of the School’s own full-time faculty using the renowned HBS case method. Faculty lectures, panel discussions, and assessment tools will create a dynamic learning environment. The program aims to build long-lasting relationships via the professional network through close interaction with an elite group of Indian and global peers.
