HBS leadership program for financial organizations comes to India

In the wake of the recent global economic crisis, companies are confronted with volatile financial markets, heightened regulation, and increased public scrutiny of both performance and ethics.

Harvard Business School (HBS) announces Leadership in Financial Organizations– India, a new program scheduled from April 16 to 19, 2013 at the HBS style classroom at Taj Lands End, Mumbai as part of its Executive Education program portfolio for India.

For business leaders in the financial industry, these are uncertain times. In the wake of the recent global economic crisis, companies are confronted with volatile financial markets, heightened regulation, and increased public scrutiny of both performance and ethics. In response, HBS offers Leadership in Financial Organizations – India, a new program focused on the complex issues facing leaders in financial firms. Led by renowned Harvard Business School faculty, this program will help participants improve their ability to lead change and drive organizational growth.

“In times of recent global economic crisis, companies must compete in an environment of heightened regulation, greater scrutiny of ethics, and increased risk,” said Boris Groysberg Richard P. Chapman Professor of Business Administration and faculty cochair of the program Leadership in Financial Organizations is presented in four of the world's leading financial centers - London, Boston, Mumbai and Shanghai. “The program’s curriculum and framework in each location allows executives from the same organizations to expand their network to different markets across the globe and develop a common leadership strategy. This in turn will help build global relations that provide value long after the program ends.”

“Senior leaders need to focus on the vision, strategy, and leadership imperatives for examining the challenges of building and leveraging a global platform, driving organizational change, and creating a collaborative environment,” said Paul Healy, James R. Williston Professor of Business Administration at HBS and faculty cochair of Leadership in Financial Organizations—India. “Through case studies, lectures, instructive exercises, and surveys focused exclusively on the financial industry we will help analyze complex leadership issues confronted by financial institutions around the world.”

 As with all HBS Executive Education programs, the India portfolio will be taught by members of the school’s own full-time faculty using the renowned HBS case method in a newly opened, state-of-the-art multimedia case study classroom at Taj Land’s End Hotel. The participants comprising senior executives from the financial industry will enjoy an interactive experience that extends the learning process through personal and professional networks long after the conclusion of the program.
