Meanwhile, in the US, gold prices decreased slightly on Monday as rising rates put pressure on the metal, while investors kept an eye on the European Central Bank's meeting in Portugal for any hints about potential policy changes.

On Tuesday, the prices of 10 grams of both 24- and 22-carat gold are marginally higher in Chennai, selling at Rs 52,030 and Rs 47,700, respectively. One kilogram of silver is now selling for Rs 60,300 in locations like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkota, compared to Rs 66,000 in Chennai.
