India’s domestic air traffic rises 3.01% yoy: DGCA

IndiGo maintained its strong position with 47.8% share of the domestic passenger market in July.

According to the aviation regulator, DGCA data, India’s domestic air passenger traffic in July rose by 3.01% compared to July last year.

The domestic air traffic was up 3.01% at 11.90 million passengers in July this year as compared to 11.55 million passengers in the same month last year.

The domestic passenger growth was 6.19% compared to the same month last year.

IndiGo maintained its strong position with 47.8% share of the domestic passenger market in July. On the other hand, SpiceJet's market share declined marginally 15.5% in July vs.15.6% in April.

For July this year, the market shares of Air India, GoAir, AirAsia and Vistara stood at 14.79%, 13.26%, 7.71% and 7.15%, respectively.

Air India topped the list of passenger grievances with 2.1 complaints per 10,000 passengers in July, while SpiceJet was on number two position with 0.8 complaints per 10,000 passengers, as per the DGCA data.
