The Indian equity market closed with modest gains amid a day full of wild gyrations. Nifty swung over 70 points while the BSE Sensex gyrated over 250 points between intra-day high and low.

Finally, BSE Sensex ended with a gain of mere three points at 25,342. The BSE Sensex opened at 25,365, touched an intra-day high of 25,480 and low of 25,223.
