Benchmark indices recovered marginally wherein BSE Sensex gained 0.28% and Nifty 50 index gained 0.18%. Broader market indices are trading in green indicating positive breadth floating in the market.
Rice stocks showcased upward momentum in trade. Rice stocks namely Kohinoor Foods was trading up by 11.40% at Rs 77 per share ,KRBL was trading up by 2.34% at Rs 497 per share, Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd was trading up by 3.41% at Rs 94 per share.
At 3 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is up 88 points at 32,274, while Nifty is up by 20 points at 10,099. A total of 46 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.54% at 16,012, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.72% at 16,638 level.
Some buying activity is seen in Healthcare, IT and Bankex sectors, while Telecom, Utilities and Auto indices are showing weakness on BSE.
Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and Tata Motors DVR are among the gainers, whereas Wipro, Vedanta and GAIL are losing on the NSE.
The INDIA VIX is up down 1.57% at 11.57.
