Sensex lost over 247 points and Nifty again slipped from the crucial level of 10,000.
Nifty Bank index lost 327 points or 1.32% at 24,578 levels.
Broader market indices are also trading in negative territory wherein BSE Mid-cap index and BSE Small-cap index lost over 1%.
Nifty Realty is the top losing index during post-lunch hours. Nifty Realty is down 4.84% at 271.15. HDIL is majorly contributing to the index losses and dragging it to lower level.
HDIL is trading lower by 10.97% at Rs 61.65 per share.
On the contrary, Phoenix Mills is gaining 2.44% at Rs 511.00 per share.
At 2 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32,025 down 247 points, while Nifty is trading at 9981 down 75 points. A total of 70 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 51 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 1.02% at 15,440, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 1.12% at 15,928.
Some buying activity is seen in Metal and Basic Materials indices, while Metal, Telecom, FMCG, Healthcare indices are showing weakness on BSE.
Vedanta, Hindalco and Tata Steel are among the gainers, whereas IOC, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and BPCL are losing on the NSE.
The INDIA VIX is up 7.4% at 12.7.
