Maruti Suzuki hits highest-ever exports milestone in FY2021-22; stock gains ~1.5%

Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported an export of 2,38,376 units in FY2021-22, being the highest in any financial year. The company has exported 26,496 units during March 2022, clocking to the highest monthly exports. This reflects Maruti’s commitment to the government’s Make-in-India initiative.

“Today is an auspicious day for me as I take up the responsibility of MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki, that coincides with the achievement of this historic highest ever exports. This export milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of the team Maruti Suzuki led by Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, in whose position I’m stepping up. These export numbers demonstrate India’s manufacturing potential and the acceptance of India-manufactured vehicles, all over the world,” commented Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi.

Maruti Suzuki has been an exporter of vehicles since 1986 and has achieved a cumulative export of over 22.50 lakh vehicles. Maruti is an exporter to over 100 countries.

Maruti Suzuki is currently trading at Rs7,675 up by Rs115.1 or 1.52% from its previous closing of Rs7,559.90 on the BSE. It has touched today's high and low of Rs7,726.10 and Rs7,521 respectively.
