MRPL shuts down refinery on precautionary basis

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals stated that its refinery has been affected by a minor landslide due to intensified monsoon in Dakshina Kannada district.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals stated that its refinery has been affected by a minor landslide due to intensified monsoon in Dakshina Kannada district. As a precaution, structured shutdown of Phase-III process units of refinery. Phase-I, Phase-II and product dispatch facilities unaffected & are operating normally.

As per a BSE filing the company said, "The refinery has been affected by a minor landslide as an aftermath of the intensified monsoon in Dakshina Kannada District, hence as a precautionary measure, we have structured shutdown of the Phase-III process units of the refinery to access the condition of the facilities in the vicinity and for immediate stabilisation. The Phase-I and Phase-II of the complex as well as the product despatch facilities remain unaffected and are operating normally". 

Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd is currently trading at Rs50.25 down by Rs0.5 or 0.99% from its previous closing of Rs50.75 on the BSE.
